Hey y’all! My name is Amanda. I am a wife, mom, and the owner of Pink Salon and Pink Extensions Studio. Welcome to my Southern Boss Babe blog page! I named it that because you guessed it….. I’m a southern girl from Inman, South Carolina and yes, I am a BOSS! Thanks for taking the time to listen to what I have to say.
If you had told me seven years ago that I would be starting a blog, I would have told you, you are crazy! And yet, here we are. I’m writing and you are reading. So that means I must have something to say.
I have owned my salon for almost 7 years now. It blows my mind that it’s been that long! On Social Media and to anybody looking from the outside, it looks like I pretty much have it all figured out. Rainbows and Sprinkles. But the truth is, every single day being a business owner is hard. It’s a love hate relationship that pretty much any entrepreneur or mom can understand. You know what I’m talking about. The struggle to love something so much, but also rue the day that you brought it into existence!
There are days in business that are so amazing and rewarding, and other days that you wish you could just shut the door, turn off the phone, and take a long quiet bubble bath alone. No phone calls, no one asking anything of you, just a moment of stress free peace.
The problem is, God calls each of us to do something. When He does, you have two choices. You can either move forward and run with all of your might or you can do nothing. You can learn to execute and fulfill the calling with absolute excellence, or you can do nothing. You can walk one trusting step at a time, or you can stay stuck exactly where you are. No matter which choice you make, there will still be problems. But if you run towards your destiny and NEVER QUIT, you are guaranteed to be exactly what God has designed YOU to be!
There is only one YOU. Although society has tried to stuff us all in a mold and social media has been designed to make us all want to be the same and want the same things, the fact is, we aren’t the same. Not at all. Yes, we have similar situations and experiences, but God has made us all different. He’s made us different for a reason. There are specific things that need to be done in your life, when you are the only one at the right place in the right time. Will you do those things when the time comes?
I believe that I am living in a time when I am called to help women dealing with hair loss and thin hair. I am meant to teach other stylists and network with other salons to create a true culture of Empowering Women. I am meant to be a healer of pain associated with beauty. All of us in the beauty industry have struggled at some point with our appearance. I will tell my story later on, but for now I want to encourage you. Journeys don’t happen all at once. (Like Dorothy clicking her ruby red slippers) A journey happens one step at a time. So take a step! Just one step in the direction of happiness. Maybe you are afraid…. thats ok! DO IT SCARED!
I am taking one step today by starting this blog. I have no idea what I will say or what will come of this, but I know that nothing happens by chance in my life, but by design and decision. You are welcome to join me on my journey of being a wife, mom, and Southern Boss Babe as I take one step, Faithfully, at a time!
